10 Scrumptious Chocolate Cakes with a Twist

Who doesn't like chocolate cake?

Who hasn't got a favourite recipe tucked away.

But if you're looking for something just a little bit different, check out these 10 completely scrumptious chocolate cakes with a twist ...

1. Moist chocolate farmhouse cake from The Alchemist

An incredibly grown up chocolate farmhouse cake that gets it's needs-no-icing-moistness from - would you believe it - potatoes! Yep, it's a chocolate potato cake!

2. Chocolate banana cake from Domesblissity

This chocolate cake, which is a big hit with children, is absolutely packed full of bananas ...

3. Kit Kat and Malteser cake from A Typical English Home

A fabulously decadent cake that is full of cream - in both the cake & icing - and covered in two of my favourite childhood chocolates, Kit Kat bars and Maltesers which I think are similar to Whoppers in the USA.

4. Chocolate labour cake from Adventures in Tullyland

Supposedly this chocolate labour cake genuinely can induce labour if you've got a baby who really doesn't want to budge when they're due! Apparently it's all down to the combination of chocolate and sour cream ...

If you can't quite decide between cake or pudding, why not have both - yeah! - with this fabulous combination of red velvet cake and chocolate pudding.

6. Chocolate cake with strawberry mousse heart from Something Sweet

How can you not fall in love with a chocolate cake covered in pink icing that has scrumptious strawberry mousse hearts hidden inside?

7. Baked chocolate mousse cake from Something Sweet

How can you top the perfect chocolate cake? Well, you could smother a thick layer of liquer rich, creamy chocolate ganache all over it, couldn't you?

8. Decadent chocolate cake from With A Blast

You want total decadence in your chocolate cake? Don't stop at two layers. Don't stop at three layers. Create four layers of yumminess sandwiched together alternate layers of chocolate icing, coconut & caramel milk and apricot jam & caramel milk and top the lot with more icing and cherries!

9. Chocolate carrot cake - Commona my house

Who knew a cinnamon flavoured, chocolatey-carrot cake covered in chopped walnuts would taste so good?

10. Chocolate cake with a twist - from Futures

And finally, when needs must coconut chocolate icing is the only way to go ...
