I don’t know about you, but I feel that September is a time for new beginnings. Much like January, but with a little bit less pressure. It’s the perfect time to reset.
This year brings with it an extra need to reset, as the next few months are looking like they will be financially challenging for many of us, with energy prices going through the roof and the cost of living spiralling.
So there are more reasons than ever to tweak, improve or change things up heading into the autumn and winter months.
I am focusing on a few areas of life in particular. Of course the hot topic is on reducing the cost of our energy and grocery bills. I’ve put some ideas down on how to save money on groceries.
I tend to put some effort into decluttering at this time of year. I’ve already started giving the house a bit of declutter.
The big effort is going to come when I finally bite the bullet and declutter what is comically called our ‘guest’ room. Comical, because it’s become a dumping ground for stuff whilst we were having renovations done.
I will be using the four-box decluttering method, because I find that being methodical is the best way to sort through clutter. I’ve put this decluttering method in a post because I’m confident you find it useful if you are planning a bit blitz.
Another focus is building on the exercise regime I started at the beginning of the year. It’s been going well, but the summer school break always makes things a little more haphazard, so it’s time to knuckle down and get back in the rhythmn of regular exercise.
