This easy Halloween word search is a fun way for kids to get excited about Halloween. It’s also a great way for them to hone their problem-solving skills and improve their spelling and vocabulary.
I’ve created this free printable word search to be easy enough for school-age kids to do. There are 12 spooky words to be found in this free printable Halloween puzzle game.
The words are hidden both vertically and horizontally. Some of the words are spelt forwards, and some are spelt backwards.
There is a variety of spooky and creepy words to be found, including ‘vampire’, ‘ghoul’, and ‘zombie’ in the letter grid.
You can use this free printable in the classroom, at home in the run-up to Halloween, or during a Halloween party. You could even give it out as a Halloween party favour.

HOW TO DO THIS EASY HALLOWEEN WORD SEARCH
The aim of the word search is to find the listed words within the letter grid. Once a word is found, it can be highlighted, ringed or crossed through.
I’ve also created an answer key, so players will never be left wondering where the words are hidden that they haven’t been able to find.
There are a couple of things you could do to add a little extra excitement to playing the word search.
Firstly, you could make the word search a timed challenge. Secondly, you could incentivise the kids by offering treats as prizes, either for being the first to find a word or for being the first to complete the search.
