Spa parties are super popular with teen girls and with good reason. An at-home spa party is a luxurious way to celebrate a birthday and with clever planning, it can be the perfect blend of relaxation and fun.
Transform your home into a serene oasis with this easy-to-follow guide, ensuring a day of pampering and fun for the birthday girl and her friends.
From setting up treatment stations to taking part in fun party games and activities, your teen and her guests will have the most wonderful party in the comfort of her own home.
Here are some party ideas to get you started planning a party to remember.

CHOOSE A THEME TO CREATE THE PERFECT VIBE
You don’t have to have a theme beyond simply hosting a spa party, but giving the party a theme helps to mark it out as a special occasion and I find setting a theme helps with making decisions when you’re planning a party.
Have the theme run through every element of the party from the invites and decor to food and of course the spa treatments and activities.
When I think ‘spa party’ for teen girls, I think about setting a serene and relaxing vibe with a splash of fun and excitement. Here are three spa party themes you might like:
1. PYJAMA PARTY
Whether it’s a sleepover party or not, setting a pyjama dress code is a great theme for a spa party.
Ask guests to come in their cosiest pyjamas and then provide them with fluffy slippers and silky eye masks in a little welcome pamper pack.
Set up pampering stations around the living room or bedroom and scatter soft blankets and pillows for seating to enhance the cosy vibe.
2. BACK TO NATURE
Put the focus on natural, organic beauty by decorating the spa zone in your home with fresh flowers, foliage or little succulents and scatter candles for soft lighting.
Set out homemade spa treatments using ingredients like avocado, honey, oats, and cucumber. Scatter rose petals in foot soaks and DIY some lavender-infused face mists.
3. GLITTER AND GLOW
Go with a glitter and glow theme if you know your teen and their friends would relish a more Hollywood vibe.
Invite guests to arrive in their finest loungewear and then provide them with fancy slippers and eye masks.
Decorate with fairy lights, sparkles and glitter. Fancy balloons are a good option, choose some in pastels or go Kardashian-style and have a balloon arch at the entrance to the spa area.
Carry the theme through into spa treatments and by creating a glow-up station.
CREATE A SUMPTUOUS AND RELAXING SPA AREA
Here are some ideas on how to create a spa environment at home that immediately shouts (or whispers!) relax and chill.
Complement these spa touches with party decorations to match your theme and you’re all set to host the most epic spa party for your teen ever.

The key things to focus on are soft, sumptuous textures, mood lighting and a playlist that sets the right vibe.
Place lamps around the spa area or scatter tea lights and votives in small clusters. Have a statement candle with a beautiful aroma somewhere central to create a serene atmosphere.
Alternatively, aromatherapy diffusers are a great way to fill a room with divine scents.
Use scatter cushions, soft seating, blankets and throws to create a chilled-out vibe for the spa area.
Curate a playlist of background music that has soft instrumental tracks or natural sounds, your teen and her guests can always change it up once they’re done with the spa treatments and want to up their energy levels.
For the ultimate spa comfort experience, soft towels and plush robes are a must. Have a selection of towels in various sizes – large for draping over chairs and smaller ones for facial treatments or as hand towels.
Either ask each guest to bring their robe or treat them to a new robe to relax in.
SPA STATIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Set up a selection of spa stations to bring the spa party to life. Have each station revolve around a different aspect of pampering or self-care so that the birthday girl and her guests feel thoroughly indulged and pampered.
Here are some ideas to help you plan:
1. FACIALS AND SKINCARE
Younger Gen Z and Gen Alphas turning teenagers are well known for being crazy about skincare. So you should absolutely include a station for facials and skincare.
Lay out soft towels and headbands for each guest to keep hair out of the way.
Set up a facial steam infused with essential oils like lavender, rose or geranium to open up pores guests get going on mini facial treatments.
Offer a selection of other teen-appropriate beauty treatments, like gentle cleansing, face yoga exercises (check out the Luvly App for inspiration), gentle exfoliation and a luxurious face cream to finish off.
Offer either homemade face masks, (try a nourishing banana and honey mixture to a calming avocado, yoghurt, and oatmeal blend) or buy face masks for teen skin.
Have a plate of cucumber slices for soothing eyes.
2. DIY MANICURES AND PEDICURES
What self-respecting teen girl goes without a regular mani-pedi?!
Arrange a comfortable area with good lighting where the girls can sit and work on their nails.
Place bowls filled with warm water and a few drops of essential oils to soften the skin.
Provide nail files for shaping nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying polish. Toe separators for pedicures.
Put together a selection of nail polish, including base and top coats. Go the extra mile with nail stickers and nail art supplies.
3. MASSAGE AND RELAXATION AREA
Set up a tranquil corner with fluffy pillows and comforting blankets. Have lotions or oils on hand for shoulder and hand massages.
You might also want to consider recruiting someone who knows how to give a relaxing massage or hiring a masseuse to come in as a special treat.
CREATING A SPA-INSPIRED MENU
For your teen’s spa party, choose nourishing foods and delightful drinks that will pamper the palate as much as the treatments soothe the soul.
When planning your menu, think fresh, wholesome, and light bites that’ll ensure your teen and her friends feel fabulous.
1. SAVOURY DELIGHTS
- Vegetable crudites with Hummus: Serve an assortment of fresh, crunchy vegetables like carrots, celery, bell peppers, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes. Pair these with a bowl of rich, creamy hummus.
- Caprese Skewers: Thread cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves onto small skewers. Drizzle with balsamic reduction and a touch of extra virgin olive oil.
- Pita Pockets with Greek Salad: Stuff whole grain pita pockets with a mixture of diced cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives, and feta cheese. Dress lightly with olive oil and lemon juice for a Mediterranean-inspired savoury dish.
- Cucumber Sandwiches: Thinly slice cucumbers and layer between whole-grain bread with a touch of herb-infused cream cheese.
- Avocado Toasts: Smash ripe avocado onto toasted multigrain slices and top with a sprinkle of sea salt and chilli flakes.
2. INDULGENT SWEET TREATS
Indulging in a taste of sweetness adds a perfect balance to your spa party.
- Chocolate Fondue: Melt rich dark chocolate and serve with a selection of fruits like strawberries, pear and banana slices for dipping.
- Honey-Yoghurt Parfaits: Layer Greek yoghurt with honey and granola for a touch of indulgence that’s still on the healthier side.
And of course, don’t forget a showstopping birthday cake, like this one.
I’ve added some more of my favourite cake designs to my Teen Spa Party Pinterest board.
3. REFRESHING DRINKS
Hydration is key in any spa experience, so serve up drinks that will refresh and revitalise.
- Homemade lemonade: Make with freshly squeezed lemons, soda water, sugar to taste. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves or fresh raspberries for an extra special drink.
- Herbal Tea: Offer a selection of herbal teas to soothe and calm. Think peppermint, chamomile, or a floral blend.
- Mineral water with cucumber: Add slices of cucumber to a jug of water for a traditional spa drink.
TABLESCAPE
Set the scene for all the delicious food and drink by creating a spa-like tablescape. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
1. TABLE CLOTHS AND RUNNERS
Use a white tablecloth to give the table a fresh, spa-like feel. Layer with a runner that works with your chosen theme.
2. CENTREPIECE
A centrepiece can be as simple as a bunch of fresh flowers in a vase or Mason jar, or you could group succulents or air plants for a touch of greenery.
Alternatively, how about layering sand and pebbles in a glass bowl, filling it with water and floating candles for a serene water feature centrepiece?
3. EXTRA TOUCHES
Place tea lights or votive candles around the table and scatter with dried flower petals, glitter or confetti.
SPA PARTY GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT
Prepare some party games and entertainment to run alongside the spa stations. The spa treatments are for relaxing and feeling pampered, and the games and entertainment bring the fun and giggles.
1. FUN PARTY GAMES
Set the scene for a night of laughter and bonding with these party games:
- Cucumber Slice Relay: Teams compete to pass a cucumber slice from one person to another only using spoons held in their mouths.
- Guess the Scent: Blindfold each guest and have them guess different scents from various lotions or essential oils.
2. NAIL ART CHALLENGE
A nail art challenge is a fun way to incorporate a spa station into a party game. Challenge party guests to show their creative flair and see who can come up with the most fun designs.
- Tools: Supply a range of nail polishes, stickers, and tools
- Judging: Have everyone vote for their favourite designs (except their own).
3. DIY BEAUTY PRODUCT MAKING
There are some brilliant kits around for creating DIY beauty products or you could gather ingredients to create a body lotion or lip balm.
4. Spa party games bundle
This bundle of 15 Spa Party themed games in my shop Big Heart Little Star is perfect to have to hand for chill time in between treatments and generally relaxing and having fun.

SPA KIT OR PARTY FAVOUR
I know from hosting teen parties that teenagers don’t expect party favours in the same way younger kids do. However, if you want to go the extra mile, you could create spa kits as a special gift to give to each guest that they can take home with them after the party.
Here are some ideas of things to include:
- Eye masks
- Face masks
- Bath salts
- Sugar scrubs
- Temporary tattoos (grown-up ones like these)
- Lip gloss
- French Polish manicure set
I hope I’ve given you all the ideas and inspiration you need to create a spa party your teen will thoroughly enjoy and remember for years to come.
